About the role

  • Technical Lead overseeing commissioning projects for Babcock, enhancing defense capabilities in a complex environment. Ensuring effective project schedules and collaboration with teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface between Project Teams and the Commissioning Group
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Commissioning to advise and guide Project personnel
  • Collaborate closely with the Commissioning Team to sequence and coordinate commissioning activities
  • Ensure all commissioning activities are properly sequenced in accordance with the Project Schedule
  • Proactively identify and communicate project risks, conflicts, and opportunities
  • Provide regular updates on commissioning progress and performance against schedule milestones
  • Maintain detailed working knowledge of the project schedule
  • Attend key Project meetings as the designated representative of the Commissioning Team
  • Collaborate with scheduling and planning teams on logical progression within the master schedule
  • Identify risks and opportunities
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Strong background in Commissioning, Engineering, or Project Integration roles
  • Degree or diploma in engineering or engineering technology discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Registration as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT), Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T), or Professional Engineer (PEng)
  • 10+ years of related technical experience
  • Proven ability to work across departments and manage competing priorities
  • Experience interpreting and contributing to complex project schedules
  • Familiarity with submarine or naval refit programs
  • Knowledge of various mechanical or weapon system-related technologies
  • Experience with mechanical systems operation, testing, or commissioning
  • Communication skills; ability to represent Commissioning interests in multidisciplinary forums
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office suite
  • Eligible for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
