Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers
- Build and maintain a high-trust, high-accountability team culture
- Own the engineering rhythm — standups, planning, retros
- Identify and address performance issues early
- Lead hiring with input from the Head of Engineering
- Remove blockers and shield the team from noise
- Surface risks and communicate team status clearly
- Continuously improve how the team works together
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years managing engineering teams
- People-first leader
- Strong communicator
- Track record of retaining and developing strong engineers
- Organized without being bureaucratic
- Calm and clarity under pressure
- Care about engineering craft
