About the role
- Senior Engineering Manager leading platform infrastructure, SRE, and DevOps at Shakepay, a Canadian bitcoin financial-services company. Guiding teams, reliability, and AI-powered engineering tooling.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of platform engineers across Infrastructure, DevOps, and Developer Experience
- Set technical direction for platform architecture and ensure roadmap execution
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term investments in tooling, infrastructure, and reliability
- Oversee cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational tooling in a regulated environment
- Design and build AI-powered internal tools and agentic workflows
- Improve developer productivity across onboarding, CI/CD, and local-to-production workflows
- Ensure systems are secure, scalable, observable, and resilient
- Own incident management practices, postmortems, and on-call rotation sustainability
- Collaborate with product engineering, security, and compliance stakeholders
- Connect platform initiatives to business and customer impact
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles
- 3+ years managing and growing high-performing teams
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, ArgoCD, Datadog, PostgreSQL, CI/CD tooling, and GitOps
- Experience operating production systems and supporting on-call rotations
- Ability to set technical direction across developer experience and infrastructure
- Strong collaboration and communication skills focused on business impact
- Comfort using AI tools for development, debugging, and learning
- Fluency in English required
- Bonus: experience in fintech or other regulated environments
- Bonus: prior Staff or Senior Engineer experience before management
