About the role

  • Software Development Manager leading AI-forward engineering teams at Benevity, whose technology helps companies and employees take social action. Owning delivery, people leadership, cloud SaaS development and release adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple teams in the AI-DLC process and champion AI-forward ways of working
  • Deliver software solutions across DevX/SDLC and core business work
  • Own delivery outcomes, set commitments, track progress and follow through
  • Lead recruiting, performance management, team culture, engagement, budget and cost control
  • Develop and coach team leads and senior engineers
  • Move people and capacity between teams as priorities shift
  • Identify and escalate resourcing issues to senior leadership
  • Own internal adoption and enablement of releases
  • Partner with Product, Support, Customer Success and other internal teams on readiness, documentation, training and communication
  • Guide technology decisions balancing business, engineering and architectural objectives with Benevity standards, governance and controls
  • Coordinate prioritization and scheduling with product management
  • Provide weekly and monthly performance measures and reporting aligned to the Benevity Scorecard and Playbook
  • Use AI tooling for planning, reporting, analysis and communication, and coach teams to do the same
  • Ensure engineering-led innovation time and carry promising PI projects through completion

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with agentic and AI-assisted software development
  • Experience using AI tooling to scale leadership work
  • Successful track record leading multiple engineering teams working with cloud-based technologies
  • End-to-end SaaS product development experience at scale in enterprise environments
  • Strong delivery mindset and accountability across competing priorities
  • Track record driving internal adoption and enablement of new tools, platforms or releases
  • Comfort leading teams across DevX/SDLC and product-facing work, and shifting capacity between them
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including with non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask and reprioritize
  • Experience developing people, building team culture and engagement, and building technology teams in high-growth companies
  • Technical knowledge, including at code level, to validate assumptions and guide technology decisions
  • Empathy, positivity and self-awareness
  • Passion for adaptable development methodologies
  • Curiosity about latest technologies and best practices
