About the role

  • Process Engineer supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects in mineral and chemical processing at Barr. Involves process design, documentation, and technical reporting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support multidisciplinary project teams within process engineering practice group on mineral and chemical processing projects.
  • Process design and analysis for base and precious metals, industrial minerals, coal, chemicals, and fuels.
  • Develop process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Perform mass and energy balance modeling, supporting laboratory and pilot plant testing.
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications
  • Assist with capital and operating cost estimates and size process equipment and piping systems.
  • Participation in testing programs to validate process designs and optimize performance.
  • Support project implementation through occasional travel, site visits, and hands-on fieldwork as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, metallurgy, mineral processing, materials science, or a related discipline with relevant coursework.
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship from Barr Ltd., now or in the future.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship or have the ability to obtain a TN visa.
