Senior Water Resources Engineer joining Calgary team to support hydrologic analysis and hydraulic design. Leading project teams and ensuring project milestones are met with technical expertise.
Responsibilities
Support hydrologic analysis for rural and urban settings.
Conduct hydraulic analysis and design related to rivers, streams, conveyances, dams, and other hydraulic structures.
Perform impact assessments and natural channel design.
Work with clients, permitting agencies, and public officials.
Lead project teams with a variety of technical backgrounds and disciplines.
Assist with the preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications.
Help ensure project milestones are met and provide regular updates to project managers and clients.
Perform QA/QC and provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior staff.
Requirements
B.Sc. in civil, environmental, or related engineering fields with a focus on water resources.
10+ years of water resources engineering experience with a focus on hydrology, hydraulics, or water quality.
Experience leading projects and building teams.
P.Eng. registration or eligibility for immediate registration with APEGA.
Experience and knowledge of hydrologic modeling and 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling software.
Possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship by Barr Engineering and Environmental Science Canada Ltd., now or in the future.
