About the role

  • Senior Water Resources Engineer joining Calgary team to support hydrologic analysis and hydraulic design. Leading project teams and ensuring project milestones are met with technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Support hydrologic analysis for rural and urban settings.
  • Conduct hydraulic analysis and design related to rivers, streams, conveyances, dams, and other hydraulic structures.
  • Perform impact assessments and natural channel design.
  • Work with clients, permitting agencies, and public officials.
  • Lead project teams with a variety of technical backgrounds and disciplines.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications.
  • Help ensure project milestones are met and provide regular updates to project managers and clients.
  • Perform QA/QC and provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior staff.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in civil, environmental, or related engineering fields with a focus on water resources.
  • 10+ years of water resources engineering experience with a focus on hydrology, hydraulics, or water quality.
  • Experience leading projects and building teams.
  • P.Eng. registration or eligibility for immediate registration with APEGA.
  • Experience and knowledge of hydrologic modeling and 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling software.
  • Possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship by Barr Engineering and Environmental Science Canada Ltd., now or in the future.
