About the role

  • Application Systems Analyst providing business expertise and technical knowledge for Application Management System project. Responsible for consultation, requirements gathering, and user acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Director, Applications Support & Enhancement (Director), the Application Systems Analyst (Analyst) provides business expertise and technical knowledge to support the Application Management System (AMS) project.
  • The Analyst supports the AMS project through consultation with internal and external business groups, gathering business requirements, in-depth analysis of requirements, and provision of recommendations for enhancements based on findings.
  • Additionally, the Analyst is responsible for user acceptance testing project management, training, documentation and providing support to internal and external business groups and clients.
  • The position provides support, input and backup to Director on Application System Integration business analysis processes, requirements gathering, scheduling, prioritizing and implementation of testing of enhancements.

Requirements

  • Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field such as Business Analysis, Project Management, or Technical GIS and one year of relevant experience; or
  • Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field such as Business Analysis, Project Management, or Technical GIS and three years of relevant experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience with Application Management System.
  • Demonstrated experience related to project management or coordination including, but not limited to, scheduling, user acceptance testing and training.
  • Demonstrated experience working with GIS systems, particularly ArcMap and BC Government spatial data and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis of business requirements for system integration.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical support for client services.
  • Demonstrated experience working with maps, plans and legal descriptions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of provincial legislation, regulations and policies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of energy resource activities, terminology and processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in data integration; perform data analysis and produce technical reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a project team environment.
