About the role
- Financial Reporting & Systems Analyst supporting financial operations. Overseeing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and reporting standards for the BC Energy Regulator.
Responsibilities
- Supports core financial operations, including month-end and year-end close, payment review, capital asset accounting, and preparation of accurate financial reporting.
- Oversees system administration, financial system structures, and data integrity to maintain strong internal controls.
- Collaborates with internal teams in support of the annual audit and drives continuous improvement in financial processes.
Requirements
- A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, and a minimum of two years of related experience.
- Demonstrated experience applying PSAS, with the ability to interpret and apply standards to support sound financial analysis and decision-making.
- Demonstrated experience supporting core financial processes, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial analysis, and month-end and quarter-end close.
- Demonstrated experience working with enterprise financial systems, including system administration, user access, master data management, and system configuration.
- Demonstrated experience providing clear guidance and professional support to staff and stakeholders, including reviewing work, offering feedback, and explaining financial processes and system requirements.
- Demonstrated experience applying intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including use of PivotTables and lookup functions.
