About the role
- Teaching Assistant supporting online math and STEM education at AoPS. Mentoring students and providing real-time feedback during live classes.
Responsibilities
- AoPS Online offers rigorous, high-quality math and other STEM classes for middle and high school students which expand and deepen their scientific thinking.
- Mentoring feedback for students preparing for math contests.
- Answering questions, providing hints, and encouragement in real time during live text-based classes.
Requirements
- Must be 18 or older.
- Strong command of math content required, physics, python, or chemistry a plus
- Good English writing and typing skills.
- Quick thinker in a fast-paced learning environment.
- Must be pursuing or have completed a degree in a STEM field. Completed degree preferred.
- Teaching or tutoring experience.
- Experience with math contests (e.g. MAA AMC 10/12, AIME, USA(J)MO) required, other contest experience a plus (e.g., F=ma, USAPhO, USACO, USNCO, etc).
