About the role

  • Test Engineer ensuring quality and compliance in BetMGM's sports wagering applications. Responsible for testing efforts and continuous quality improvements within the technology team.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute testing efforts for assigned features, products, or integrations
  • Ensure coverage of functional, exploratory, and regression testing needs
  • Collaborate with Technical Managers, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to define testing scope, risks, and acceptance criteria for features and releases
  • Perform application and platform testing on in-house and third-party integrations based on regulatory and technical requirements
  • Design, implement, and maintain manual test cases and applicable automated tests
  • Lead investigation, reproduction, and analysis of complex defects
  • Clearly document issues with actionable detail, traceability, and context
  • Review, reproduce, and validate issues raised by external testing entities or partners
  • Proactively identify quality risks, gaps in coverage, or process inefficiencies and propose practical improvements
  • Mentor junior testers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or a closely related technical role
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycles, and quality best practices
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
  • Experience designing, maintaining automated tests
  • Experience troubleshooting all major consumer operating systems (iOS, Android, MacOS, Windows)
  • Experience with testing and debugging web and mobile applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently investigate issues, reason about system behavior, and assess risk
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in sports wagering and interactive casino gaming technology is a plus
  • Must be able to stand or sit and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time
  • Occasional to semi-frequent travel for on-site field testing, with advance notice.
