About the role
- Staff Frontend Engineer to build and own next generation products at Bettermode. Working across the stack with TypeScript, React, and NestJS.
Responsibilities
- Operate fluently across both sides — TypeScript everywhere, React on the frontend, NestJS on the backend
- Integrate LLMs into real customer-facing workflows
- Raise the engineering bar through code reviews and mentorship
Requirements
- Deep expertise in the TypeScript ecosystem and modern tooling
- Clean, modular code that scales and is easy to test and maintain
- Understanding who an ask is for, why it matters, and what problem they are actually trying to solve
- Ability to differentiate between code that needs to survive five years and code that's a learning prototype
- Serious about AI with experience in using Claude Code, Cursor, or a custom rig
- Thrives in a startup environment where requirements evolve
- Experience leading a new product from zero
- Prior Staff-level (or equivalent) experience at a software company
- Strong product instinct with examples
