Responsibilities
Contribute to the execution of, and depending on experience, lead projects or project components in water resources and hydrotechnical engineering
Serve as technical lead or technical reviewer for water-balance, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling studies, as well as for the design of hydraulic structures
Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams on projects that may take place in complex or remote environments
Plan and manage project tasks, including effort estimation, scheduling and coordination with other disciplines
Supervise, support and mentor junior engineers and professionals
Participate in client interactions, including defining technical needs and presenting results
Contribute to business development activities, including identifying opportunities and preparing proposals (depending on level)
Participate in internal research and development initiatives to advance technical practices
Promote BGC’s vision, values and culture within the team
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, water resources engineering, or a related discipline
6 to 14 years of relevant experience in water resources or hydrotechnical engineering
Prior consulting experience is an asset
Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for registration within one (1) year of the date of hire
Strong technical expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, surface water management and the design of hydraulic infrastructure
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and to collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment
Ability to provide positive, mobilizing leadership, including delegating, guiding technical tasks and mentoring junior engineers
Excellent written and verbal proficiency in French and English
Proficiency in an additional language is required for this position to communicate with partners and colleagues located outside Québec
Autonomy, technical rigor and strong organizational skills
Experience in the mining sector is an asset
Experience or interest in pipeline-related projects or natural hazard risk management is an asset
