About the role
- Environmental Professional in Burnaby conducting environmental assessments and regulatory submissions. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage projects related to water resources and environment.
Responsibilities
- Field team member for field data collection activities and surveys (e.g., invasive plants, breeding bird, fish habitat quality)
- Assist with preparing desktop and field based environmental assessment reports, regulatory submissions, and environmental management plans.
- Act as field representative, conducting site inspections and reports and providing directions to external stakeholders (i.e. contractors and client representatives).
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with external site stakeholders as required
- Ensure work meets Binnie’s quality standards, professional requirements, and client expectations
- Update supervisor on progress made and any potential changes to timelines or deliverables
- Work closely with Professionals from all other disciplines
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years of previous related work experience conducting environmental assessments, regulatory permitting, and reporting
- Bachelor’s degree or graduate education in environmental science, environmental management, environmental engineering, or related field
- Good understanding of the most current municipal, BC provincial, and Canadian federal environmental acts, regulations, guidance, and protocols
- Field experience in the collection and analysis of field data, environmental management principles, and health and safety
- Previous experience working with large multidisciplinary project teams is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
