Responsibilities
Field team member for field data collection activities and surveys (e.g., invasive plants, breeding bird, fish habitat quality)
Assist with preparing desktop and field based environmental assessment reports, regulatory submissions, and environmental management plans.
Act as field representative, conducting site inspections and reports and providing directions to external stakeholders (i.e. contractors and client representatives).
Coordinate and communicate effectively with external site stakeholders as required
Ensure work meets Binnie’s quality standards, professional requirements, and client expectations
Update supervisor on progress made and any potential changes to timelines or deliverables
Work closely with Professionals from all other disciplines
Requirements
Minimum of 1-2 years of previous related work experience conducting environmental assessments, regulatory permitting, and reporting
Bachelor’s degree or graduate education in environmental science, environmental management, environmental engineering, or related field
Good understanding of the most current municipal, BC provincial, and Canadian federal environmental acts, regulations, guidance, and protocols
Field experience in the collection and analysis of field data, environmental management principles, and health and safety
Previous experience working with large multidisciplinary project teams is an asset
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Excellent organization and time management skills
