Responsibilities
- Overseeing and administering the Bird Safety Program.
- Monitoring safety compliance on the assigned project(s).
- Conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Developing and delivering safety training and toolbox talks.
- Ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Participating in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Maintaining accurate safety records and documentation.
- Promoting a positive safety culture by engaging with workers and supervisors.
Requirements
- Assist in conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Support the development and delivery of safety training and toolbox talks.
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in incident investigations and assist with root cause analysis.
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
- Promote a positive safety culture by engaging with workers and supervisors.
- Stay up to date with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations.
- Provide administrative support to the HSE team as needed.
Benefits
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or working toward completion).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in construction or a related industry.
- Knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation (e.g., OHSA).
- Knowledge of conducting safety inspections against regulations and internal procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of formwork, carpentry, electrical, and other trades.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various sites within the GTA.
- Working towards or possessing safety certifications (e.g., CRSP, CRST, CHSO, NCSO).
