About the role

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and administering the Bird Safety Program.
  • Monitoring safety compliance on the assigned project(s).
  • Conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Developing and delivering safety training and toolbox talks.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Participating in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Maintaining accurate safety records and documentation.
  • Promoting a positive safety culture by engaging with workers and supervisors.

Requirements

  • Stay up to date with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to the HSE team as needed.

Benefits

  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or working toward completion).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in construction or a related industry.
  • Knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation (e.g., OHSA).
  • Knowledge of conducting safety inspections against regulations and internal procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of formwork, carpentry, electrical, and other trades.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various sites within the GTA.
  • Working towards or possessing safety certifications (e.g., CRSP, CRST, CHSO, NCSO).
