About the role

  • Field Installation Technician for BlastOne supporting installation teams in industrial settings. Ensure quality and timely installation while coordinating between customers and technicians throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the installation team (customer or contractor) to ensure on time delivery of installation schedules and that the quality of installation meets expectations
  • Act as the liaison between the customer and the delivery team to effectively communicate installation status, risks and unforeseen impacts
  • Detailed review of new system installations to confirm prints and functioning as designed
  • Conduct startup and commission of new installations
  • Generate installation and commissioning reports
  • Provide support to sub-contractors to ensure installation steps are completed with expected quality
  • Conduct training for operations and maintenance groups
  • Conduct over phone support to customers
  • Trouble shoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems during startup phases of installation
  • Review existing PLC programs for troubleshooting and diagnosis
  • Check inventory of delivered components to validate parts are available
  • Communicate with the customer for any inquiries and requirements from the customer scope of work
  • Solicit and gather feedback from sub-contractors for continuous improvement
  • Work with PMs and PEs to derisk potential field issues during the installation phase
  • Daily communication of project status including punch list items and risks to project delivery
  • Identify potential risks in the installation phase and develop mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate risk factors to ensure proactive decision-making
  • Implement quality control measures to guarantee accuracy and completeness of installations

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Installation or service technician or similar role
  • 2+ years of experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment (pneumatic, electrical and mechanical)
  • 3-5 years of extensive Controls experience (including diagnosing complex, intermittent system failures), programming in addition to troubleshooting, commissioning and retrofitting multiple OEMs, supporting PLC platforms (such as Beckhoff and Schneider etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in supporting high-performance teams in a technical project environment
  • Solid technical background with understanding of installation procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to support and coordinate multiple teams during installation phases
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills
  • Must have a high sense of urgency - Prefer action over inaction - Task oriented
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Must have excellent proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive/SharePoint, and Project as these will be daily tools for the role
  • Remote Meeting Technology Experience (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, WebEx)
