About the role
- AI Developer building scalable cloud-native applications for BMO, a Canadian financial services group. Designing, testing, and maintaining cloud platforms, integrations, and continuous delivery pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable and accessible business cloud applications
- Perform technical design, development, enhancement, testing, debugging, and maintenance of cloud applications
- Support the design of business processes in the cloud
- Apply managed services, next-generation databases, and developer tools
- Migrate existing applications to the cloud, modify applications for cloud use, and build cloud-native applications
- Create and maintain applications using different programming languages
- Integrate data sources and identify incompatibility and security concerns
- Design, configure, and implement cloud-native software solving business problems
- Maintain applications and infrastructure for cloud-based platforms
- Support strategies to improve existing cloud technology performance
- Develop workflows and processes following cloud architecture best practices
- Create instructions and documentation for cloud computing operations
- Establish development environments and continuous integration pipelines
- Use modern application patterns and code efficiency
- Translate user needs into technical specifications
- Provide specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support
- Diagnose and solve problems independently, including non-routine situations
- Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make risk-informed decisions aligned with policies, laws, and regulations
Requirements
- Typically 5–7 years of relevant experience
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience
- Foundational proficiency in Agile methodology, creative thinking, learning agility, and emotional agility
- Intermediate proficiency in IT automation, databases, configuration management, elastic computing, SaaS, PaaS, cloud security, customer centricity, verbal and written communication, collaboration and team skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and data-driven decision-making
- Advanced proficiency in cloud computing, cloud solutions, software development, scripting languages, troubleshooting, software development lifecycle, and cloud storage
