Cloud VDI Engineering Lead responsible for infrastructure solutions and VDI environment improvements at BMO. Collaborating with stakeholders to implement cloud-based virtual desktop solutions and manage disaster recovery efforts.
Responsibilities
Develops and implements Cloud Virtual Desktop Infrastructure & platform solutions for BMO
Designs, builds / installs, tests, maintains, monitors and upgrades infrastructure such as computing platforms, servers and networks
Ensures consistent image management, application delivery, scaling efficiency, performance monitoring, and continuous improvements across the VDI environment
Performs capacity workload modeling and availability analysis for a variety of platforms and environments
Implements disaster recovery procedures and troubleshoots any network and connectivity issues in a timely manner, with minimal disruption to normal functioning
Works with stakeholders and recommends cloud solutions based on engineering requirements
Develops and maintains Architecture and Detailed Design documentation, including diagrams for the end-to-end Cloud VDI solutions
Leads Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and operational readiness efforts as they pertain to the Cloud VDI solutions
Creates test plans, conducts testing in Dev/QA, and develops implementation guides along with support documentation
Requirements
Typically 7+ years of relevant experience
Post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Intermediate level of proficiency: Configuration management, Systems administration, Scripting languages, IT infrastructure library, Root cause analysis, Troubleshooting, Cloud computing, Cybersecurity and privacy concepts, principles and solutions, IT automation – Digital First, Building and managing relationships, Adaptability, Citrix DaaS
Advanced level of proficiency: Windows 365 Cloud PC, Network routing, switching, and security, Virtualization and virtual machines, Operating Systems and Platforms, Infrastructure as code (IaC), Quality assurance and control, Continuous improvement management, Communicating with impact, Customer Centricity, Version control, Verbal & written communication skills, Analytical and problem solving skills, Influence skills, Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration, Able to manage ambiguity, Data driven decision making
