About the role

  • KYC and remediation manager overseeing BMO’s Canadian Business Banking customer remediation program. Managing regulatory risk, controls, stakeholder relationships, and change initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive successful delivery of Canadian Business Banking’s customer remediation program
  • Oversee and represent the customer remediation initiative
  • Monitor existing processes, address deficiencies, identify improvement opportunities, and execute change management
  • Manage relationships with CBB leadership, frontline sales and service personnel, technology, first- and second-line risk partners, internal resources, and contract agents
  • Support implementation, maintenance, and administration of first-line-of-defense programs
  • Monitor and advise on risk requirements within the defined risk appetite
  • Manage and support complex risk programs, frameworks, projects, and initiatives
  • Monitor industry and legislative developments and update programs
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and identify, analyze, and address gaps and issues
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement internal control systems
  • Support strategic initiatives and build internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations
  • Monitor and track performance and address issues
  • Build and lead change management activities, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment
  • Ensure first-line jobs follow defined processes and procedures
  • Develop, document, maintain, and communicate business procedures
  • Design sustainment strategies and recommend mitigations for industry- and segment-specific risks
  • Track exception and exemption requests and approvals
  • Facilitate training for business unit employees
  • Provide quality control for investigations, self-reports, examinations, and independent reviews
  • Build risk awareness, knowledge, and skills through communications, presentations, tools, and ongoing support
  • Support design, development, automation, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of first-line-of-defense risk management programs
  • Conduct or support self-assessments, coordinate risk remediation, respond to regulatory requirements, implement policies, and manage risk measurement and reporting
  • Identify, investigate, analyze, document, and mitigate program risks
  • Support audits and regulatory examinations and help develop corrective action plans
  • Provide support for risk management training and awareness programs
  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems independently

Requirements

  • Typically between 5–7 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • In-depth program management skills
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience
