Mammography Technologist providing safe, quality breast imaging for CancerCare Manitoba’s BreastCheck clinics. Supporting Winnipeg and mobile screening services across Manitoba.
Responsibilities
Provide and perform quality service to BreastCheck clients in an effective, efficient, and safe manner.
Work under the supervision of the Operations Manager - BreastCheck.
Provide services at Winnipeg and Mobile Screening clinics.
Work days, modified days, and weekends as required.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiological Technology education program.
Successful completion of Breast Imaging 1 and Breast Imaging 2 CAMRT courses; if no one meets this qualification, completion may occur within two years.
Member in good standing with CAMRT and CAMRT-MB, or eligible to obtain and be an active member prior to start date.
Compliant with CAR continuing education requirements for Mammography Technologists.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a Digital Imaging department using RIS, PACS, and EMR systems.
Valid Manitoba Driver’s License and current Driver’s Abstract upon hire.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and evenings, and willingness to travel by road and air to communities across Manitoba, including Northern and remote communities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Good physical health, including ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Satisfactory employment record.
Legally able to work in Canada.
Thorough understanding of positioning and compression, clinical and technical factors, radiation safety, radiation protection, and quality control.
Previous mammography experience preferred.
Knowledge of Population Health and Screening Programs is an asset.
Experience using Maxon BSP and PenRad is an asset.
Ability to speak French is an asset.
Successful completion of Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check.
