About the role

  • Quality and compliance specialist overseeing GMP, accreditation, QMS and pharmacovigilance for Shared Health Diagnostic Services in Manitoba. Ensuring regulatory compliance across provincial healthcare sites.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general Quality Management System oversight for all Shared Health Diagnostic Services areas
  • Ensure Diagnostic Services areas meet or exceed regulatory and accreditation requirements required for licensing and/or accreditation, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Oversee pharmacovigilance program(s)
  • Perform other duties related to the job description within stated skills and capabilities
  • Conduct tasks related to quality-system requirements and reporting within required timelines
  • Identify and prioritize potential solutions to problems and issues
  • Work with and communicate with accrediting bodies and regulators
  • Travel within Manitoba to Shared Health Diagnostic Services sites as required
  • Work under the general supervision of the Quality Director, Diagnostic Services

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance capacity
  • Previous work experience within a GMP environment
  • Previous experience as a quality auditor/inspector
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of or experience with accreditation, regulations and quality requirements relating to Health Canada, Manitoba Quality Assurance Program, College of American Pathologists, ISO and CAR
  • Knowledge of or experience with data analysis and basic statistics
  • BSc in chemistry, biological sciences or related field, OR graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Services healthcare program such as Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology or Cardiology Technology
  • A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered if there is demonstrated experience specific to the responsibilities of the position
  • Current registration/licensing with applicable professional body
  • May be required to be designated as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW) under applicable Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission legislation
  • Ability to work independently and remotely at times
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and communicate with accrediting bodies and regulators
  • Ability to meet quality-system timelines and reporting requirements
  • Ability to make risk-based decisions reflecting regulatory requirements and internal policy
  • Effective interpersonal, time management, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing demands and handle difficult and sensitive situations
  • Windows computer environment considered an asset
  • Microsoft Office programs considered an asset
  • Workplace Health & Safety Program or training preferred
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check, required as conditions of employment
