About the role
- Lead UI Engineer managing the UI Engineering Team for Cyberpunk 2. Overseeing UI features development and fostering team collaboration in a creative gaming environment.
Responsibilities
- Managing your direct reports and supporting their professional development and career path, including setting up 1:1s, performance management, hiring and promotions
- Working closely with designers, artists and other developers to understand their needs and ensure that your team is aligned with everyone to deliver on expectations
- Guiding your team to build and enhance UI features
- Maintaining and optimizing existing systems
- Creating new features for the user interface framework
- Implementing tools for UI artists and designers
- Tracking and fixing bugs in the game user interface and user interface framework
- Managing and completing tasks effectively and on time, while creating high quality code
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience as a UI programmer/engineer within the games industry
- 3+ years of management experience
- Understanding the elements and player experience of successful user interfaces in modern video games
- Ability to build a user interface in a way that is accessible to everyone
- Strong proficiency in C++ programming and knowledge of Unreal Engine
- Proficiency in algorithms and code architecture
- Debugging and optimization skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently when required
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and respectfully in a multicultural and multilingual environment across time zones is essential
