About the role

  • Technical Services Specialist engaging mining customers and supporting PhotonAssay™ deployment. Collaborating cross-functionally and providing technical training to ensure effective adoption of innovative mining technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of PhotonAssay™ to confidently communicate its capabilities to clients, translate the technology into compelling business value propositions, and recognize when to involve deeper Chrysos technical expertise as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all sales- and service-related matters within your client portfolio, maintaining a regular and strategic engagement schedule aligned with key account and sales plans.
  • Deliver client education and training programs to ensure effective adoption and understanding of PhotonAssay™ technology across stakeholder groups.
  • Build and manage productive relationships with key site stakeholders across Geology, Geometallurgy, and Metallurgy teams to understand their long-term objectives and identify optimisation strategies across the mining value chain. This includes: New or enhanced assay services.
  • Tailored metrics for coarse or heterogeneous gold ore bodies.
  • Optimised grade control and sampling programs.
  • Improved resource/reserve models.
  • Processing plant measurement strategies that support process optimisation.
  • Recommendations for optimised sample preparation strategies that balance sample size, particle size, and machine cycle time to meet economic and technical objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Chrysos Maintenance, Customer Quality, Physics Operations, laboratories, and external partners to ensure exceptional client service and technical delivery.
  • Lead or support quality assurance efforts, including: Long-term QAQC data analysis and reporting for gold, silver, and copper, working with the Customer Quality team.
  • Comparative performance analysis of PhotonAssay™ vs traditional laboratory techniques.
  • Calibration support and oversight for expanded services.
  • Deliver technical training on the application and value of PhotonAssay™ to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical and application expertise to support the Sales team throughout the sales cycle.
  • Assist Sales Managers during key customer site visits.
  • Support Sales Managers at industry conferences and trade shows as required.
  • Identify opportunities for the further growth and development of PhotonAssay™ services or related opportunities, through ongoing engagement with existing clients, prospective customers, and broader industry stakeholders.
  • Drive thought leadership initiatives by developing joint publications or conference presentations in collaboration with key PhotonAssay™ users, particularly major gold producers, while coordinating closely with internal teams and presenting at key industry events when appropriate.

Requirements

  • University Degree qualifications in Geology, Geosciences or Metallurgy, or other related disciplines.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in geology, mining, metallurgy or scientific applications, with exposure to novel technologies or processes and their adoption and use.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to diverse audiences (from operators to executives), and translating complex information into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with a global network of customers (miners, labs, and internal stakeholders), resolve complex issues, and drive adoption of technical solutions.
  • Ability to influence and align cross-functional teams and customers around shared objectives.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects, managing timelines and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Able and willing to travel and work within Australasia and other countries as required, including mine sites.
  • Comfortable working across global time zones and in culturally diverse teams, with a strong sense of initiative and autonomy.
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • English fluency.
  • Permanent Canadian residency or Canadian citizenship.
  • French, Spanish or Portuguese understanding would be an advantage.
  • Practical understanding of sample preparation and analytical techniques used in the minerals industry, such as Fire Assay, Screen Fire Assay, AAS, ICP, XRF, and Wet Chemistry.
  • Familiarity with QAQC protocols and LIMS systems.
  • Competence in statistical interpretation of assay results, statistical comparisons (e.g. PhotonAssay™ vs Fire Assay), and experience preparing customer-facing reports or feasibility studies.
  • Understanding of sampling theory.
  • Knowledge and experience using HubSpot.
