About the role

  • Private Banking Advisor managing high-net-worth banking, credit, and investment portfolios for CIBC, a Canadian relationship-oriented bank. Expanding client relationships and delivering wealth-planning solutions across Markham and Richmond Hill.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of cash management, lending, and investment products and services
  • Increase overall profit contribution to CIBC Private Wealth Management
  • Support client needs for investment, retirement, and estate planning services
  • Build and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients with banking, credit, and investment needs
  • Perform risk assessments and in-depth financial analysis for prospective and existing high-net-worth clients
  • Resolve complex credit issues with Credit Specialists and Commercial Banking
  • Provide specialized private banking services to professional-services partners and Wood Gundy high-net-worth clients
  • Review client portfolios and financial needs holistically and identify opportunities to expand products and services
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and introduce new product and service solutions
  • Acquire new clients with sophisticated financial needs and develop untapped high-net-worth market opportunities
  • Represent CIBC on boards, in charitable organizations, social networks, business associations, and industry associations
  • Participate in large deal teams focused on ultra-high-net-worth clients
  • Maintain current knowledge of economic, financial, legislative, and product developments
  • Communicate relevant developments to clients and build a professional target-segment network

Requirements

  • Current accreditation and good standing as an Investment Representative (IR) with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization – Investment Dealer (CIRO-ID)
  • Professional Financial Planning Course and continuing education toward the Certified Financial Planner designation
  • Experience with personal financial planning concepts
  • Strong knowledge of banking, investment, and credit products and services
  • Financial services experience in private banking, wealth advisory, or brokerage
  • Relationship management skills to build strong customer relationships and identify partnership and consolidation opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain new client relationships
  • Established profile in the local business community
  • Knowledge of diverse marketplaces and local client needs
  • Active participation in community events, charitable organizations, and industry associations
  • Legal eligibility to work at the specified location; valid work or study permit where applicable
  • Ability to complete attribute-based assessments and other skills tests if requested
