About the role

  • CIBC Relationship Manager growing bilingual business-banking portfolios in Montreal. Delivering credit, cash-management, and financial solutions while developing community referrals.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Director or Senior Manager & Team Lead, Business Banking
  • Provide new and existing clients with an exceptional client experience
  • Help business clients meet immediate and long-term business goals by understanding needs and identifying relationship-deepening opportunities
  • Meet clients’ financial and credit needs through comprehensive business banking offers or formal introductions to appropriate banking colleagues
  • Collaborate frequently with experts across CIBC to address client needs through the appropriate segment
  • Proactively manage and grow a portfolio of business-only connections
  • Build relationships with Centres of Influence to generate referrals through in-person and digital channels
  • Identify opportunities to develop full client relationships and provide deposit and credit solutions
  • Participate in community and banking centre events to build CIBC presence and gain market share
  • Develop and manage a sales pipeline of diverse business banking opportunities
  • Engage portfolio, partner-referred, and prospective clients to understand immediate needs and longer-term goals
  • Deliver trusted advice and financial solutions and cultivate a network to establish new client relationships
  • Promote digital banking options and CIBC Cash Management products
  • Support client acquisition through referrals and internal partner relationships
  • Attend local events and participate in marketing and outreach activities to increase brand awareness and generate small business opportunities

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in Business Banking or Commercial Banking
  • Strong knowledge of credit
  • Knowledge of cash management products and services
  • Knowledge of business cash flow and financial analysis
  • Established network in the local business community
  • Completed undergraduate degree/diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Legally eligible to work at the specified location; valid work or study permit where applicable
  • May be required to complete an attribute-based assessment and other skills tests, such as simulation, coding, or French proficiency
