About the role
- Staff engineer modernizing CINC's community-management platform from monolith to microservices. Building TypeScript web applications, APIs, and Cephai-powered features while leading cross-team architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality web applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and frameworks such as React, Next.js, or NestJS
- Drive CINC's architecture evolution from monolith to modular microservices
- Develop and consume RESTful and GraphQL APIs and establish API standards
- Implement event-driven and message-based integrations
- Apply automated testing, CI/CD, and continuous delivery
- Partner with design and product to turn complex requirements into usable features
- Practice code review, pair programming, and iterative delivery aligned with Extreme Programming values
- Integrate Cephai-powered capabilities into user-facing features
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers
- Lead technical discussions on architecture, reliability, and performance across teams
- Lead technical design and delivery of cross-team initiatives
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience building production web applications or SaaS products
- Deep fluency in TypeScript and JavaScript, with frameworks such as React, Next.js, or NestJS
- Deep expertise in backend architecture, including monolith decomposition, microservice principles, and API design best practices
- Proven record of designing and maintaining RESTful or GraphQL APIs with clear contracts and documentation at scale
- Working knowledge of modern DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, observability, and containerized deployments
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Solid experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development (TDD)
- Experience making and documenting architectural decisions, such as ADRs, balancing scalability, cost, and maintainability
- Ability to communicate design choices and technical trade-offs to engineers, product managers, designers, and senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated ownership of complex, multi-team initiatives from idea to deployment
- Experience in cross-functional teams, leading architectural discussions and reviews
- Record of mentoring engineers and raising technical standards without formal management authority
