- Senior Software Engineer building scalable Ruby on Rails search systems for Clio, a global legal AI technology company. Mentoring engineers and solving complex customer problems.
Responsibilities
- Build innovative solutions and make an impact as part of the Engineering team
- Work with developers to solve complex problems and provide elegant solutions to Clio customers
- Work in an Agile environment with full-stack developers across varied projects
- Learn new technologies and hone expertise in Ruby on Rails
- Lead diverse projects and collaborate with multiple engineering teams across the globe
- Review and provide feedback on code within the team and across Clio
- Mentor more junior engineers to improve their craft and efficiency
- Collaborate across Clio to diagnose, understand, and solve problems
- Build solutions spanning multiple areas of the organization
- Teach and learn from colleagues by providing and receiving constructive feedback
Requirements
- Experience in software development, specifically building web applications at scale using Ruby on Rails
- Ability to gain fluency in new technologies quickly and work effectively in an ever-evolving environment with distributed teams and customers
- Demonstrated success in mentorship in software development, particularly using an Agile process and with large-scale SaaS products
- Diverse base of knowledge to help solve complex technical problems
- History of past projects, including notable successes and lessons learned
- Clear communication skills and ability to build high-trust relationships with colleagues and customers
- Keen interest in improving craft by using AI
- Professional experience building search systems, typically as a Search, Relevance or IR engineer
- Experience working with and processing large volumes of data
