About the role

  • Senior Data Scientist at Clio focusing on growth strategy and advanced modeling. Collaborating with teams to enhance legal AI technology and transform the legal experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Growth and Insights teams to identify opportunities, develop hypotheses, and run experiments that drive growth.
  • Build predictive models to forecast the impact of specific growth initiatives.
  • Design and deploy end-to-end forecasting pipelines (from feature engineering to automated monitoring).
  • Build a scientific culture in the Product team by enabling discussions with data, disseminating best practices, and leading by example.
  • Translate model outputs into actionable business narratives for department-level stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a highly quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated track record of deploying models that drove significant business impact and delivered measurable results.
  • Expertise in Python and SQL.
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
  • Proven ability to apply rigorous statistical analysis to solve complex product and business problems.
  • Expertise in probabilistic forecasting and time-series analysis, including the ability to model and handle data irregularities (seasonality, outliers, cold-starts).
  • Proven experience in the design and evaluation of A/B tests and other product/business experiments.
  • Advanced experience with a major cloud provider (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and platforms like Databricks.
  • Proficiency with common ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Familiarity with the process of productionizing ML models and applying principles of maintainable, scalable ML code.
  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field preferred.
  • Exceptional ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts, analytical findings, and strategic recommendations to both technical and product/business stakeholders.
