About the role
- Senior Data Scientist scaling Instacart’s Meals initiative for grocery delivery. Leading experimentation, KPI tracking, and product analytics to drive engagement, activation, and reactivation.
Responsibilities
- Lead data science for the Meals initiative and own post-MVP scale-up of data science systems and infrastructure
- Design, build, and maintain metric-tracking frameworks measuring Meals’ impact on engagement, activation, and reactivation
- Drive experimentation strategy from hypothesis definition through analysis and recommendation
- Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers on strategy and data-driven insights
- Contribute to a 0→1 initiative and help define success at scale
Requirements
- Proven experience in consumer-facing product data science, partnering closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and Data Engineers
- Strong foundation in product and data analysis, A/B experimentation, causal inference, and statistical modeling
- Experience defining KPIs and optimizing funnels for product-market fit
- Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize complex technical findings for senior business and engineering stakeholders
- 4+ years of work experience in data science or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
