About the role

  • Mobile Maintenance Supervisor maintaining heavy mining equipment for Coeur Mining's Silvertip operation in Northern British Columbia. Leading journeypersons and technicians on a two-week-in/two-week-out remote-camp rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of Mobile Maintenance journeypersons and technicians
  • Repair equipment using a balanced approach of field work and office work
  • Order parts and assist in inventory management
  • Ensure all equipment complies with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure employees are trained and experienced for assigned tasks
  • Ensure employees perform pre-operational and post-maintenance checks and follow Safe Operating Procedures
  • Monitor equipment and processes and conduct or direct troubleshooting activities
  • Ensure reporting and work orders are accurately completed in a timely manner
  • Promote continuous improvement in Mobile Maintenance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Valid Red Seal or Interprovincial Journeyman's Certificate as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic
  • Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience
  • Experience repairing Electric Hydraulic Jumbos, Diesel Scoops and Trucks, underground support equipment, and surface equipment
  • Knowledge of Ford, CAT, and Sandvik equipment is an asset
  • Strong mechanical background
  • Extensive underground and surface mining experience
  • Ability to work effectively in field or shop environments
  • Familiarity with the Health, Safety & Reclamation Code of British Columbia is an asset
  • Physically fit to perform the duties of the position
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate light vehicles and mining equipment
  • Willingness to work a two-week rotation schedule with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp
