About the role
- Systems Designer II for Comtech, contributing to system architecture and product prototyping in technology solutions. Involved in design, development, and troubleshooting of complex network systems.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to system architecture design and assist with product prototyping.
- Conduct detailed analysis of defined system specifications.
- Define system specifications and qualification tests.
- Develop and document designs that meet applicable standards.
- Select, qualify and integrate 3rd party equipment and software.
- Integrate and test complex features.
- Write technical design documentation.
- Write procedures and provide support to operations group.
- Respond to emerging issues impacting our customers; troubleshooting, analyzing, proposing and implementing resolutions.
- Collaborate with many other technical and service teams across the organization.
Requirements
- Experience with designing, building, securing and maintaining Database infrastructure (MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL) including replication, failover and backup/restore.
- Experience with data analysis and reports generation.
- Strong networking knowledge (OSI layer 2&3)
- Proficient with Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016 and above.
- Experience with Linux (RHEL, Debian, etc.).
- Experience with Virtualization (Proxmox, VMWare)
- Proficient in using debugging tools and techniques.
- Experience with sizing, deploying and managing server hardware.
- Experience and knowledge of Active Directory deployments and management is an asset.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, bash, lua, etc.) is an asset
- Experience with containers and orchestration (kubernetes, docker, ansible, etc.) is an asset
- Language: English, (French is an asset).
- Education: University Graduate degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)
