About the role

  • Indigenous Relations Advisor fostering relationships with Indigenous communities in Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Collaborating internally to support engagement initiatives and uphold compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain respectful, long-term relationships with Indigenous leaders, communities, and partner organizations across Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
  • Represent Dexterra at community events, industry meetings, and strategic gatherings.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, legal, and other teams to support proposals, bids, and business development initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Indigenous engagement strategies and initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, coordinate agreements, and ensure compliance with legal and financial obligations.
  • Support training for Indigenous awareness and contribute to our PAIR certification efforts with the CCIB.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and French required.
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in Indigenous community relations, business development, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, realities, and protocols.
  • Indigenous candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Post-secondary education or relevant experience in Indigenous studies, social sciences, communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Solid skills in contract drafting and management, negotiations, financial reporting, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong commitment to quality and a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently (40–50%) across Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.
