About the role
- Senior Engineering Manager leading the development of sbx product for Docker. Managing engineers and driving product success with a focus on customer experience and UX.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers building and scaling the sbx product.
- Own the customer experience—from first run to enterprise deployment.
- Align the team with business and product goals by working closely with product management.
- Drive the product roadmap and ensure it reflects what customers actually need.
- Ensure predictable delivery and operational excellence of the components the team ships.
- Facilitate communication across teams and status reporting for critical projects.
- Hire and retain talent.
- Hold a high bar for engineering excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience managing a high-performing team
- 5+ years experience as a software developer
- Track record of shipping products that succeeded in market—not just products that shipped.
- Strong instinct for UX and a history of advocating for the customer in technical decisions.
- Experience working with enterprise customers or building products with enterprise requirements (security, governance, compliance).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and the ability to work remotely across time zones.
