About the role

  • Advisor providing analytical functions and support to the Billing Support team at Doctors of BC. Responsible for billing support and education for physicians while working on various projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a range of analytical functions and support to the Billing Support team
  • Primarily focus on providing billing support and education to physicians
  • Work on ad-hoc projects as needed
  • Support the implementation of the Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) Payment Model and delivery of the FPSC Physician Payments
  • Directly assist physicians with billing support
  • Develop, coordinate, and improve billing education services
  • Collaborate with physician billing educators to develop LFP resources
  • Review and improve FPSC Physician Payments
  • Engage and collaborate with internal teams, partners and government
  • Develop expertise in the LFP Payment Model and FPSC Physician Payments
  • Effectively respond to billing inquiries
  • Maintain and develop billing resources, such as FAQs and billing guides
  • Work with subject matter experts to develop and deliver billing education.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate university degree in a recognized and related discipline, AND up to two years of related experience; OR have an equivalent level of related work experience in lieu of post-secondary education
  • Strong orientation toward customer-service
  • Superior interpersonal, oral and written communication and relationship management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong ability to translate technical information to various audiences
  • Excellent skills in critical thinking and analysis, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to apply problem solving skills with a high degree of tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent writing skills, coupled with a proven ability to develop clear, concise, and comprehensive correspondence, reports, and briefing notes.
  • Ability to synthesize and critically appraise feedback from multiple sources
  • Interest and experience in process improvement
  • Project management experience, including implementing timelines, estimating and monitoring budgets, and identifying risks
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of the team
  • Understanding of adult education principles an asset
  • Understanding of change management methodologies an asset
  • Previous success working in dynamic, challenging and ambiguous environments, an asset.
