About the role

  • RF & Signal Processing Engineer designing, building, testing RF systems for defense projects. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and optimize RF systems, signal chains, antennas, and wireless communication systems.
  • Develop and implement digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms for communications, sensing, navigation, spectrum monitoring, and signal analysis applications.
  • Perform RF modeling, simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
  • Conduct laboratory and field testing using RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and software-defined radios (SDRs).
  • Support system integration, prototype development, verification, and transition into low-volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Contribute to PCB design, electrical integration, and system bring-up activities.
  • Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and design reviews.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience in RF engineering, wireless communications, signal processing, radar, electronic warfare, satellite communications, navigation systems, spectrum monitoring, or related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of RF propagation, antenna theory, electromagnetics, communication systems, and digital signal processing.
  • Experience using tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python, ADS, CST, HFSS, or similar engineering software.
  • Experience working with software-defined radios (SDRs) and wireless communication systems.
  • Knowledge of signal detection, classification, direction finding, geolocation, and spectrum analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with embedded systems, FPGA development, or machine learning applications for RF systems is an asset.
  • Experience working with RF power amplifiers (PA MMICs), including matching, tuning, and testing, is an asset.
  • Familiarity with modulation schemes, digital radio systems, ADCs, DACs, RFSoCs, and SDR architectures is an asset.
  • Comfortable working hands-on with prototypes, laboratory equipment, and field test systems.
