Intern supporting AI-based software development for marine engineering research on ice-loads prediction. Collaborating with global teams at ABS HET&DRC in St. John's, NL.
Responsibilities
Conduct literature review on AI and Machine Learning (ML) based ice-loads prediction methods.
Assist in the design and development of an AI-based solver for ice-loads calculation.
Assist in the processing, visualization, and interpretation of engineering datasets.
Write optimized and efficient code in Python/C++.
Assist in the testing, validation, and benchmarking of AI models.
Maintain organized project files, including datasets, code, and documentation.
Participate in regular project meetings.
Collaborate with the ABS HET&DRC engineering team and ABS engineers around the world.
Work independently under the guidance of the project supervisor.
Requirements
A Graduate (Master's) or undergraduate student with a background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field.
Substantial experience in developing and implementing code.
Proficiency in Python is required. Experience with C++ is preferred.
Experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) is preferred.
Self-driven and able to work independently while collaborating with the HET&DRC team.
