About the role

  • Director of CRO leading analytics, experimentation, and personalization for Shopify merchants. Driving revenue growth through funnel analysis, testing, and client strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic CRO engagements for DTC ecommerce brands, including discovery, ongoing retainers, and ad hoc consulting initiatives
  • Serve as clients’ data-driven strategy partner across site experience, merchandising, acquisition, retention, analytics, UX, and digital product roadmaps
  • Develop and execute data-driven strategies aligned with short- and long-term business objectives
  • Identify conversion optimization opportunities across the customer funnel using quantitative funnel and behavioral analysis
  • Develop data-backed hypotheses and testing roadmaps with UX, Design, and Development
  • Design, execute, and analyze A/B and multivariate tests using appropriate statistical methods
  • Monitor test and site performance, flag data anomalies, and iterate on quantitative findings
  • Lead AI-enabled experimentation and real-time personalization initiatives
  • Embed AI across insight generation, test design, execution, and performance analysis
  • Build, QA, and deliver monthly client performance reports covering traffic, conversion, revenue, channel mix, and test results
  • Own analytics implementation and data integrity across GA4, Google Tag Manager, Shopify Customer Events and pixels, consent mode, bot/spam filtering, and reconciliation against Shopify orders
  • Build automated performance dashboards in Looker
  • Conduct funnel, cohort, segmentation, statistical, ROI, revenue growth, and CLV analyses
  • Combine quantitative analysis with user testing, surveys, interviews, persona development, journey mapping, and competitive/heuristic audits
  • Synthesize multi-source data into clear narratives and recommendations
  • Serve as final QA for analytics and CRO deliverables, oversee CRO contractors and vendors, and maintain the CRO task board in Asana
  • Collaborate with UX, Design, and Technical Delivery teams across site builds, migrations, redesigns, feature launches, and ongoing optimization
  • Contribute to internal CRO, UX, and ecommerce strategy best practices, frameworks, and thought leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, UX, or a related field required; Master’s degree a plus or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience leading CRO initiatives as a data-first practice, mentoring team members, guiding cross-functional teams, and owning client strategy from discovery through execution
  • Advanced proficiency in eCommerce analytics and translating raw data into prioritized, revenue-ranked actions
  • Hands-on experience with statistical modeling for web experiments, including hypothesis testing, sample size and significance calculations, and segmentation
  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing and experimentation tools such as Intelligems, VWO, Optimizely, Shoplift, Visually, or similar
  • Advanced, hands-on proficiency with Google Analytics (GA4), including custom reporting, funnel and segmentation analysis
  • Experience building a prioritized, resourced testing roadmap grounded in quantitative impact estimates
  • Shopify platform experience
  • Experience partnering with UX, Design, and Development teams
  • Experience conducting UX analysis, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple client engagements in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior agency experience supporting multiple brands and workstreams preferred
  • Experience with Klaviyo or other email/retention platforms preferred
  • Cross-channel media literacy across paid social/search preferred
  • Working proficiency with BigQuery and SQL for independent, ad hoc data analysis preferred
