About the role

  • Advisor Environment responsible for environmental planning and compliance for Canadian projects. Collaborating with agencies and managing multiple projects while ensuring adherence to regulations and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the environmental planning process, including the development of environmental assessment reports, facilitation of public information sessions, acquisition of permits, and preparation of cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with federal, provincial, and local agencies to obtain necessary approvals and ensure environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental permits and conditions during construction and oversee post-construction compliance requirements.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external groups, including government agencies, Indigenous communities, and landowners.
  • Manage the environmental components of multiple projects concurrently, including oversight of consultants and adherence to project schedules and budgets.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in an environmental, engineering or related field.
  • At least 4 years of related environmental experience, in pipeline, industry, or upstream oil and gas sectors.
  • Without a degree, you will require 3 more years of experience.
  • Projects experience is an asset.
  • Ability to comprehend diverse regulatory, scientific and technical issues.
  • Familiarity with the best management practices for environmental protection.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills focused internally and externally on a wide variety of people including employees, management, regulatory agencies, and the public.
