About the role
- Engineer in Training II focusing on risk management for gas distribution assets in a hybrid role. Utilizing data-driven analysis to enhance safety and reliability in operations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large datasets to improve understanding of asset condition and risk
- Identify and assess distribution system hazards and support development of risk mitigation plans
- Develop and enhance reliability models and asset health indices for DIMP reviews
- Support planning and execution of inspections, surveys, and condition assessments
- Build and maintain analytical tools or code to support effective decision‑making
- Contribute to asset strategies and capital planning within the Asset Management Plan
Requirements
- A university degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical preferred)
- Two or more years of directly related engineering experience
- Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Programming experience, particularly in Python and related libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
- Experience with asset systems such as Maximo, GIS, or C55
- Understanding of gas distribution systems
- Awareness of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of reliability, integrity management, or statistics
- Project management skills
