About the role

  • Engineer in Training II focusing on risk management for gas distribution assets in a hybrid role. Utilizing data-driven analysis to enhance safety and reliability in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to improve understanding of asset condition and risk
  • Identify and assess distribution system hazards and support development of risk mitigation plans
  • Develop and enhance reliability models and asset health indices for DIMP reviews
  • Support planning and execution of inspections, surveys, and condition assessments
  • Build and maintain analytical tools or code to support effective decision‑making
  • Contribute to asset strategies and capital planning within the Asset Management Plan

Requirements

  • A university degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical preferred)
  • Two or more years of directly related engineering experience
  • Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Programming experience, particularly in Python and related libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
  • Experience with asset systems such as Maximo, GIS, or C55
  • Understanding of gas distribution systems
  • Awareness of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of reliability, integrity management, or statistics
  • Project management skills
