About the role

  • Electrical QC Inspector responsible for quality control inspections in electrical installation projects. Ensuring compliance with codes and conducting detailed inspections on-site as per requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control inspections for electrical construction and installation activities
  • Inspect electrical work in accordance with CEC (Canadian Electrical Code), project specifications, IFC drawings, and approved procedures
  • Verify installation of power distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, grounding, bonding, and lighting systems
  • Inspect cable tray installation, cable pulling, terminations, glanding, tagging, and dressing
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts, and cable schedules
  • Ensure proper installation of hazardous area (Class I / Zone-rated) electrical equipment
  • Monitor installation of heat tracing, lighting, receptacles, and temporary power systems
  • Witness and verify electrical testing including megger testing, continuity checks, grounding resistance, and loop checks
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and defined hold/witness points
  • Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions
  • Review test results, calibration certificates, and electrical turnover documentation
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, daily reports, test logs, and turnover dossiers
  • Coordinate with electrical supervisors, engineers, commissioning teams, and client representatives
  • Promote and enforce site safety requirements and electrical safe work practices
  • Support continuous improvement in electrical quality and inspection processes

Requirements

  • Electrical QC Inspection Experience – Mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of CEC, CSA standards, and industrial electrical installation practices
  • Experience with high-voltage and low-voltage systems
  • Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and explosion-proof equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC systems, ITPs, and turnover documentation
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team
