About the role
- Healthcare policy researcher analyzing US payer data for Policy Reporter’s pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostics clients. Delivering accurate reports, dashboards, and actionable market access insights.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on US healthcare policy data
- Investigate and extract healthcare payer policy data for client-facing reports
- Lead established reporting and maintain high data accuracy and efficiency through quality assurance
- Liaise directly with clients to understand needs, scope deliverables, and present findings as required
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to conduct analysis and generate client dashboards and visualizations
- Support and guide new hires through mentorship and training sessions
- Support cross-departmental strategic initiatives as a research-team representative
- Evaluate content and processes and develop innovative approaches to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain a database of healthcare payer policies
- Maintain internal research tools
- Perform quality-control checks on personal and colleagues’ work
- Develop a deep understanding of the US healthcare landscape
- Work independently with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel skills
- Research competencies, including synthesizing and analyzing insights from large data sets
- Ability to summarize, present, and defend findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to communicate and present findings to clients clearly and concisely
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is an asset, or 1–3 years of experience in a similar role is considered an asset
- At least 1 year of quantitative and qualitative research experience
- Experience and/or knowledge in Prior Authorization, Billing and Coding, and Medical reimbursement is an asset
- Experience communicating findings to external clients is an asset
- Prior knowledge of the US healthcare market is preferred
- Previous healthcare data experience is an asset
- Relevant scientific knowledge or work experience in pharmaceuticals, oncology/immunology, medical devices/procedures, or diagnostics is preferable
- Knowledge of the US pharmaceutical, medical device, or diagnostic market access landscape is an asset
- Knowledge and/or experience with CPT/HCPCS codes is an asset for relevant areas
- Knowledge and/or experience in precision medicine and clinical genomics is highly valued for diagnostics
- Experience processing or approving diagnostic coverage claims is an asset
