Associate role in Special Loans team overseeing delinquent commercial accounts. Providing direct support for portfolio management and loan collection processes.
Responsibilities
Assist the Special Loans team with the management and oversight of the Commercial portfolio of delinquent and problem accounts.
Provide direct support to Associate Director, Special Loans on the day-to-day portfolio management and reporting requirements of the team.
Perform a variety of functions associated with default management such as preparing/reviewing reports, attending/assisting at meetings, and portfolio management/monitoring.
Maintain and action the loan collections process and other related breaches by borrowers on assigned loans.
Contact direct clients, internal teams and/or Partners regarding arrears, maturing mortgages, past due taxes, and other non-compliance matters.
Assist Senior/Account Managers with the day-to-day management of their respective portfolios.
Requirements
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent work experience required.
3+ years’ experience working in commercial banking or commercial mortgage lending.
Understanding of mortgage enforcement remedies across Canada would be an asset.
Strong attention to details.
Strong time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Established organizational skills and ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as team.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond in a clear, concise and professional manner.
Developed and effective negotiation skills, both oral and written.
Developed business sense with sound knowledge of secured lending and factors affecting the commercial mortgage market.
Proficient user of all Microsoft tools.
Knowledge of servicing procedures.
