About the role
- Software Engineer II developing TypeScript, React Native, and Node.js features for Invoice Simple. Helping Canadian freelancers and contractors invoice customers and get paid.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to technical discussions
- Work with engineering and product stakeholders to understand the product roadmap and contribute to feature development
- Participate in software development activities, including implementing, testing, and shipping code under senior team guidance
- Support product refinement sessions
- Deliver high-quality, scalable software meeting customer and business needs
- Create maintainable solutions by following good design practices and engineering standards
- Develop, monitor, maintain, and deploy software
- Own changes from design through development, automated testing, and production deployment
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Familiarity with React and/or React Native frameworks
- Basic understanding of the Node.js ecosystem
- Hands-on experience building mobile applications, preferably for iOS or Android, using the TypeScript/React Native stack
- Basic knowledge of mobile app development from ideation to publishing
- Exposure to Firebase and push notifications
- Familiarity with basic SQL queries
- Comfortable using version control systems such as Git and GitHub
- Foundational knowledge of data structures and software design principles
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be eligible to work without sponsorship in Canada
