Join EXP to work as a Civil Engineer specializing in structures for roads and public works projects. Contribute to major projects in Quebec in collaboration with diverse teams.
Responsibilities
Perform structural calculations, structural analysis and sizing of roadway equipment (sign structures, electrotechnical structures, foundation blocks) and civil structures in accordance with applicable standards, codes and regulations;
Participate in the design and preparation of drawings and specifications for projects involving roadway equipment and/or civil structures, collaborating with a team of technicians and professionals;
Prepare cost estimates based on quantity surveys and the solutions selected for the project;
Take part in the preparation, coordination and execution of inspection projects for sign and/or electrotechnical structures, and contribute to the drafting of inspection reports;
Assist with surveys of overhead signage structures and perform their structural analysis for projects assessing the load-bearing capacity of sign structures;
Carry out engineering studies in support of construction and various repair/rehabilitation works for steel and concrete structures;
Provide assistance to the designer during construction phases;
Contribute to the effective operation of a project team composed of engineers and technicians;
Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, clients, partner contractors and representatives of major suppliers and subcontractors;
Share knowledge and experience with team members;
Serve as, or become, a technical reference/expert;
Other duties related to the position.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
Professional experience in bridges and civil structures and, more specifically, in roadway equipment;
Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) as a professional engineer;
Familiarity with modeling/design software such as Advance Design America, SAFI, and the Microsoft Office suite, among others;
Proficient in bridge design codes and technologies as well as familiar with the requirements of the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD) and the Société des Ponts Jacques‑Cartier et Champlain Inc. (PJCCI);
