About the role

  • Engineer in Electrical Engineering working for consulting firm EXP in Quebec. Handling various industrial projects from design to monitoring and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, analyze and define client requirements.
  • Design electrical, instrumentation and control projects.
  • Select, implement and integrate: motors, instruments, control systems, electrical systems, power supply and protection systems.
  • Participate in the preparation of process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Contribute to project estimating and calculation of required material quantities.
  • Prepare component lists and equipment bills of materials according to client requirements.
  • Perform site surveys and construction follow-ups required for the preparation of drawings and specifications.
  • Write site visit reports and construction meeting minutes.
  • When required, oversee construction and commissioning activities.
  • Review project inputs to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and documents provided by the contractor.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes and applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automated production, or a related discipline.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • 5 to 10 years' experience in engineering consulting and/or in an industrial environment.
  • Excellent analytical and design skills, with a solid understanding of technical concepts.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent command of French, both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD, EPLAN and Revit (an asset).
  • Knowledge of risk assessments and machine safety standards.
