Responsibilities
Prepare drawings, specifications and cost estimates for construction related to electrical distribution, services, lighting, fire alarm, telephony, communications and grounding.
Participate in the preparation of specifications and cost estimates for construction.
Coordinate with architects and project engineers.
Perform building electrical design for multidisciplinary projects.
Review shop drawings and technical data sheets.
Validate the quality of on-site work (site visits) and participate in construction meetings.
Prepare site visit reports and construction meeting minutes.
Analyze change order costs, prepare change notices and site directives, and provide the necessary recommendations to the client.
Participate in provisional and final acceptance inspections.
Perform any other duties related to the position.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in building electrical systems.
Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Fluent in spoken and written French.
Strong knowledge of the Electrical Code.
Valid driver's license for travel.
Experience with transmission substations within an engineering consulting firm (asset).
