About the role

  • Ingénieur(e) intermédiaire en structure au sein de l’équipe Énergie d’EXP à Montréal. Conception de projets d’énergie électrique en collaboration avec des équipes techniques et multidisciplinaires.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out structural design for building projects in substation and power plant environments
  • Perform civil discipline design for substations for Hydro‑Québec or other clients in Canada and the United States
  • Execute tower/pylon design projects for Hydro‑Québec
  • Conduct surveys and inspections in collaboration with other disciplines
  • Participate in the preparation of drawings and specifications, and in quantity and cost estimates
  • Contribute to structural assessments and expert evaluations of reinforced concrete and steel structures
  • Verify compliance of drawings, calculations and technical data sheets
  • Ensure quality control of work and respond to site correspondence
  • Oversee the updating of as‑built/final drawings
  • Lead and supervise a small technical team (CPI (construction project inspectors), technicians, draftsmen) on projects
  • Monitor schedules and collaborate on budget control with the project manager
  • Communicate with clients and external professionals to ensure effective coordination
  • Participate in the preparation of service proposals
  • Perform any other related duties

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (structural option) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in structural project design, including supervision of technical resources
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Experience in structural assessment of concrete dams (asset)
  • Experience in tower/pylon design (asset)
  • Experience on projects for Hydro‑Québec (asset)
  • Experience in strengthening/retrofit of existing structures (asset)
  • Experience in design and detailing of steel connections (asset)
  • Good command of the National Building Code of Canada
  • Proficiency in CSA A23.3 (concrete) and CSA S16 (steel) standards
  • Proficiency with Office software, SAFI (or equivalents: ETABS, SAP, Advance Design)
  • Knowledge of PLS‑TOWER (asset)
  • Knowledge of SAFE (asset)
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with rigor and autonomy
  • Strong team spirit, organizational skills, curiosity and attention to detail
