Engineer - Methods at Expleo supporting aerospace projects and manufacturing processes in Montreal, QC. Responsible for planning, tooling, and production support in a dynamic engineering environment.
Responsibilities
Develop the manufacturing plan and tooling requirements based on advanced engineering concepts and the expected production rate
Estimate assembly cycle time, production hours, and part quantities for new project proposals
Conduct feasibility studies related to manufacturing automation
Define assembly breakdowns and part splits to accommodate plant layout and capacity
Perform design reviews and deliver technical presentations on manufacturing plans
Be responsible for planning, sequencing, and maintaining method instructions for major and final assemblies
Support production and related departments as an advisor on methods processes, costs, and schedule-related improvements
Provide technical support to production and act as the technical interface between engineering, quality, tooling, and production teams
Investigate, analyze, and propose corrective actions to resolve sporadic and recurring production issues related to processes and tooling
Perform detailed analyses and provide information required to submit engineering change requests
Incorporate engineering dispositions into rework instructions to restore the integrity and quality of non-conforming parts and assemblies in accordance with the original design
Perform any other related duties as required
Requirements
Proficiency in interpreting 2D engineering drawings and 3D models at a level sufficient to perform daily tasks
Excellent knowledge of Bombardier aerospace tools and standards
Knowledge of MRB (Material Review Board) processes in aerospace and shop floor production practices is an asset
Excellent knowledge of aircraft structural and systems installation technical requirements
Thorough understanding of aircraft systems, installation sequences, and the requirements related to functional test procedures
Excellent knowledge of aerospace materials and hardware, industry practices and standards, and aerospace engineering specifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Sound engineering judgement
Strong sense of commitment and willingness to take on responsibilities independently
Proactive, positive attitude, and ability to work autonomously and competently
A valid work authorization for Canada is required for all positions
Criminal background check required for candidates aged 18 and over
