About the role

  • Municipal Engineer supporting Quebec municipalities with infrastructure project planning and execution. Collaborating on contract management, technical studies, and municipal support.

Responsibilities

  • Support local and regional municipalities in the preparation and review of tender documents and subsequent contracts;
  • Provide technical support to municipalities on engineering and municipal infrastructure;
  • Provide independent technical review of studies, reports, plans and specifications, tenders, etc.;
  • Provide advisory services to municipalities at all stages of contract management;
  • Prepare requests for proposals for professional services;
  • Manage projects;
  • Prepare grant applications;
  • Oversee construction site supervision;
  • Conduct preliminary studies and provide technical opinions;
  • Design municipal infrastructure;
  • Prepare plans and specifications for construction works;
  • Contribute to maintaining a collaborative working environment among employees.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering;
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in municipal engineering or in a similar role;
  • Possess excellent knowledge of regulations and standards in the field of municipal infrastructure and municipal governance;
  • Hold a valid Class 5 driver's licence;
  • Have knowledge of best practices in contract management, project management, procurement and tendering processes, and financial assistance programs for infrastructure works;
  • Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Have completed Construction Site Safety training (ASP Construction);
  • Be proficient with the Office suite and MS Project.
