About the role

  • Platform Engineer managing scalable GCP infrastructure for fintech platform. Designing CI/CD pipelines and optimizing system performance while collaborating with development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable infrastructure using GCP services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, and more
  • Manage and optimize distributed systems and databases, including Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, and TimescaleDB, ensuring high availability, scalability, and optimal performance
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, ensuring automated code deployment, testing, and integration across development and production environments
  • Utilize Terraform to define and provision cloud infrastructure
  • Write efficient, reusable scripts to automate processes and improve operational efficiency
  • Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Prometheus and Grafana to ensure the health, performance, and security of applications and infrastructure
  • Work closely with development teams to streamline deployment processes and ensure efficient and reliable releases
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues
  • Provide assistance with IT-related issues for internal teams when necessary, focusing on onboarding and offboarding processes, managing user accounts and access via tools like JumpCloud, and administering corporate services such as Google Workspace, ensuring seamless operations and quick resolution of problems
  • Ensure the infrastructure follows best practices for security, including access control, patching, and vulnerability scanning

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with GCP services and cloud infrastructure management
  • Solid understanding and experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code
  • Strong experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitLab or similar tools
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration in cloud environments
  • Experience with managing and optimizing Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, and TimescaleDB
  • Certifications in Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect) preferred
  • Familiarity with other CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments
