About the role
- Engineering Manager leading Funding scrum team at Forward Financing. Responsible for the uptime of services and successful delivery of strategic projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands on management to your team and maintain a high bar of technical excellence through code reviews, goal setting and 1 on 1 feedback
- Own the overall quality of the services in your area of ownership through effective prioritization and management of the technical backlog
- Partner closely with product managers and stakeholders on scope, sizing and prioritization to maximize the on-time delivery of business value
- Orchestrate cross-team planning for complex, multi-scrum team features
- Maintain active engagement from your team and encourage a culture of creative problem solving as well as a bias towards action
- Boost engineering productivity through ownership of the SDLC, coding standards, and best practices
- Act as a technical and cultural leader for the engineering team
Requirements
- Experience managing a full-stack engineering team
- Experience building API-driven backends, efficient and responsive front-ends, and leveraging SaaS solutions
- Experience with Kubernetes and service-oriented architecture is preferred
- Deep understanding of software architecture and design patterns
- Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time in partnership with business stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to evolve a platform while continuously delivering business value and adhering to SLAs
- Experience managing data and application security requirements (including solid SQL or PostgreSQL/relational DB experience)
- Typically has 8 or more years of experience in Agile software development
- Typically has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or additional relevant experience
